I recently returned from a year-long deployment to eastern Afghanistan where I commanded a detachment and provided direct support to both Combined Joint Task Force-101 (CJTF-101) and CJTF-1, which were led by the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division and the 1st Cavalry Division respectively.
