Sales boosts come from big data analytics
Big data analytics is important to experts in many fields. According to a new survey by CSO Insights, marketers using such systems to boost their customer engagement and sales capabilities are getting their money's worth. The results indicated that many of those companies with no big data projects are eager to add the systems and begin reaping the benefits.
Unstructured data analytics is set to be an important part of marketing strategies in the near future and the subject of intense interest. According to CSO Insights, 16 percent of firms are already leveraging big data in sales. A much larger percentage of officials however, 71 percent, expect that the technology will positively impact sales, indicating great potential for adoption.
"Sales has more to gain from big data technology than perhaps any other part of an organization because the results directly impact the bottom line," said Shashi Upadhyay, CEO with one of the survey's sponsors.
Business 2 Community recently reported on companies' efforts to use big data to better understand customer behavior. According to the source, the key concept underlying these attempts is the destruction of data silos, with firms gaining value from analyzing information in large batches.
